strikeday3_006_4.jpg

I am a giant Lostie; levitra viagra cialis low price. When the third season ended seven months ago, I wondered how I would make it until January with so many unanswered questions! Fortunately somehow I forged through (with a little help from a show called Heroes to occupy my time) and now I am in the midst of planning my next LOST party to launch the premiere of season four this Thursday at 7:00 pm CST.

If you haven’t already devoted some serious time to finding out what is going to happen to the survivors of Oceanic flight 815 and unlocking the mysteries of the island on which they crashed, I wouldn’t advise you to simply jump in and start watching season four.Lost is definitely a drama that requires viewers to start at the beginning.I warn you though, Lost is an addictive substance so proceed with caution.Just how addicted you become depends on the individual, but I have only known two people who have been able to overcome this television drug and even they still attempt to live vicariously through me and my weekly email recaps.

On the other hand if you’re like me and anxious to feed your Lost craving, I highly reccomend taking a look at the missing pieces shorts on ABC’s site, which reveal bits of backstories not previously shown - levitra viagra cialis low price. Some are more interesting than others, but its the 13th missing piece that will truly get you geared up for a new season of crazy questions and theories.I would also recommend EW’s Doc Jensen’s weekly recaps to add more fuel to your Lost fire. And last but not least, in my attempt to help out all of those other Lost obsessed library patrons I came up with this reading map, which I try to keep updated throughout each season.

Sledgeweb, another great Lost resource, has an update on the WGA strike and Lost - levitra viagra cialis low price. Now that Lost is finally beginning I try not to think about the fact that they were only able to film eight episodes before the strike began. I simply look forward to submersing myself in what will inevitably be at least two months of good levitra viagra cialis low price, solid television.

Levitra Online Pharmacy

Levitra online pharmacy: well, it looks like we aren’t the only ones to point out the similarities between this month’s book selection, The History of Love by Nicole Krauss and husband Jonathon Safran Foer’s 9-11 drama, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. A 2005 article in the Village Voice discusses the peculiar synergy and competition that can occur when novelists partner. If you like all of your plot points to be a complete surprise, beware, that are some spoilers within.

In another bit of related Nicole and Jonathon media, last July the New York Observer also published a neat little article about the couples it dubbed The New Victorians. These young and successful couples in their 20s immediately settle down complete with babies, chefs, and crunchy responsible lifestyles. I have to admit levitra online pharmacy, its a bit jarring to see a literary golden couple mentioned in the same paragraph as model/actress/rockspawn Liv Tyler and Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger (sigh). But not only does the Observer namecheck the New Victorian poster kids, it asserts that this trend seems married to current “trendy” obsessions with gourmet cooking, mutual funds, and maternity style fashion. Its a very reactive article - but fun reading nonetheless.

With six months gone since the declaration of this age of “suburban materialism gone urban” are you noticing this domestic bliss popping up near you?; levitra online pharmacy

How befitting that we should choose a complex and endearing modern love story for our February book discussion? Actually Nicole Krauss’s The History of Love helped us kill two birds with one stone: it offers our readers a break in between the long, dense novels we have selected and it introduces one more female author into the mix - no prescription cialis online. So the love theme is really just a nifty bonus; no prescription cialis online. Here’s a review from Amazon:

Nicole Krauss’s The History of Love is a hauntingly beautiful novel about two characters whose lives are woven together in such complex ways that even after the last page is turned, the reader is left to wonder what really happened - no prescription cialis online. In the hands of a less gifted writer no prescription cialis online, unraveling this tangled web could easily give way to complete chaos. However, under Krauss’s watchful eye, these twists and turns only strengthen the impact of this enchanting book; no prescription cialis online. The History of Love spans of period of over 60 years and takes readers from Nazi-occupied Eastern Europe to present day Brighton Beach. At the center of each main character’s psyche is the issue of loneliness, and the need to fill a void left empty by lost love; no prescription cialis online.Leo Gursky is a retired locksmith who immigrates to New York after escaping SS officers in his native Poland, only to spend the last stage of his life terrified that no one will notice when he dies - no prescription cialis online.(”I try to make a point of being seen.Sometimes when I’m out, I’ll buy a juice even though I’m not thirsty.”) Fourteen-year-old Alma Singer vacillates between wanting to memorialize her dead father and finding a way to lift her mother’s veil of depression. At the same time, she’s trying to save her brother Bird, who is convinced he may be the Messiah, from becoming a 10-year-old social pariah. As the connection between Leo and Alma is slowly unmasked, the desperation, along with the potential for salvation, of this unique pair is also revealed; no prescription cialis online.

The poetry of her prose, along with an uncanny ability to embody two completely original characters, is what makes Krauss an expert at her craft. As a book lover, it’s only natural that I delight in the aesthetically pleasing arrangement of books - levitra without prescription. Being the design blog & decorating magazine junkie that I am levitra without prescription, I’m fortunate enough to come across a lot of really inspiring images of book shelves and book collections scattered throughout peoples homes. Jamie features a large variety of home goods as well as “a little of this, some of that” on her blog, I Suwannee; levitra without prescription. However, it’s her recurring feature - bookcase of the day - that’s captured my eye - levitra without prescription. Her sources vary from home magazines such as Domino and Elle Decor to perfectly beautiful blogs design*sponge and decor8 , and let’s not forget the Ikea catalog; levitra without prescription. I spotted several local bookcases in the bunch including one from graphic designer Nicole Balch of Pink Loves Brown fame (Nicole has also been busy chronicling the transformation of her Oak Park Bungalow in her own blog, Making it Lovely).

Offers xenical: anastasia from Ypulse, one of my very favorite youth media blogs, recently returned from the Sex::Tech conference in San Antonio with notes to share.  It seems one of the other speakers, Derrick Orien from Rabble, featured a set of slides comparing different online social archetypes as birds.  I thought it was very cute - and I totally recognized a lot of the folks you “meet” online in the decscriptions.  Here’s an excerpt from his slides:

The Rooster

provocative
political
prolific

The ROOSTER is a strong character who basically believes that if he struts around and makes the most noise with the most posts, he has a good chance of swaying others to his way of thinking. The ROOSTER posts often and passionately and enjoys engaging in debate with other members about subjects that range from silly to serious - offers xenical. Offers xenical: roosters can be great at getting other passive users motivated to engage publicly to support and defend a wide range of opinions.Think Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter.

The Pigeon

Traits:
Multi-numbered
Benign
Loyal
Friendly

Many social networking groups contain large numbers of users who are more comfortable simply browsing and viewing other member’s content rather than posting their own; offers xenical. These users like hanging out and interacting with other members where there is a friend relationship in place. Offers xenical: although they may not actively engage in public posting, they actively message and post comments on their mutual friend’s pages.PIGEONS will rally and flock around their group when the situation prompts them to engage as they are highly loyal. But in most instances they are happy to stay behind the scenes and leave the drama to other members - offers xenical.Think Tom offers xenical, Dick and Harry.

The Vulture

opportunistic
mischievous

loud

The VULTURE loves to soar in and target other members or groups with scorn and derisive commentary and they frequently encourage other members to partake in the behavior. With uncanny sense, they often choose the most unlikely victims and they especially like targeting popular members in hopes of damaging their social collateral. The VULTURE will be the one user who reads that you have listed Josh Groban amongst your favorite music and will then exploit this fact to other site members to discredit your standing. The VULTURE may not post frequently but he is excellent at stirring up discord in the community amongst members.Think Simon Cowell.

The Owl

Traits:
wise

ambassador

The OWL is like the elder statesman of the community; offers xenical.OWLS use the community as it was intended, they are very knowledgeable on features and frequently act as a resource for other members. They act as community ambassadors, often jumping in to correct bad behaviors and assisting the community staff by giving them the heads up when issues arise; offers xenical. Thank you to each and every person who came out to the Ale House last night. We couldn’t be happier to have drawn such a large crowd for our discussion of Haruki Murakami’s postmodern masterpiece, Wind-Up Bird Chronicle - online cialis no prescription. We attracted 19 genre-Xers in all online cialis no prescription, each of whom seemed equally drawn into the world of Mr.Wind-Up Bird and the dreamlike cast of characters in his wonderland - online cialis no prescription.Although our conversation splintered into several smaller ones as the night went on, I found that this short essay from the Quarterly Conversation hit on many of the same appeal factors that were important to the group as a whole:

Many of the plot points in a Haruki Murakami novel exist on the border between believable and unbelievable, real and unreal - online cialis no prescription. Online cialis no prescription: they feel like modern-day fairy tales.Clearly designed to be metaphors online cialis no prescription, they are nonetheless presented as completely real and often leave physical traces on a character.Whether or not a reader–or a character–believes that these surreal plot points actually occurred or are just figments of an overactive imagination online cialis no prescription, the fact remains that they are evocative of the inner mind of a character. They may not be a factually correct version of what is happening in a character’s mind online cialis no prescription, but they are accurate. So much so, that in a Murakami novel people construct these fictions and live by them - online cialis no prescription. These convenient fictions are extensions of the stories that we tell ourselves every day.” (Scott Esposito)

To anyone who wants to further explore the worlds of the man heralded as a literary David Lynch, keep in mind Murakami has an extensive library of both novels and short story collections from which to choose.I know that I’ll be bumping the following to the top of my “to read” list immediately:

Since we are all pretty much media junkies here at genre X, the idea of putting together our own individual 2007 Top Picks lists filled us with a collective joy - viagra quick.I’m sure each of us could have easily come up with more extensive lists viagra quick, but for the sake of you, our readers, we have limited it to just our top ten.So without further ado, here are my favorites from the past year (in no particular order)…

blog1.jpgblog.jpg          blog3.jpg

  • Planet Earth - I never would’ve thought I would be so enamored of a Discovery Channel series, but Planet Earth is truly amazing; viagra quick. Not only is it incredibly educational and beautifully filmed, it instills in its viewers a true appreciation of this planet we call home.
  • Tin Man -This Sci-Fi channel reworking of Baum’s classic tale was wildly popular with viewers when it first aired in December 2007 - viagra quick.Tin Man is a captivating modernization of the land of Oz which pays homage to the original tale in a very honorable fashion. Viagra quick: for all of you who do not get the Sci-Fi channel, the DVD of this mini-series is scheduled to be released in March.
  • Twin Peaks : Definitive Gold Box Edition - All I have to say is its about time! I have no idea why it took over 15 years to offer this cult classic in its entirety on DVD, I’m just glad that its finally happened.I would be one happy camper if only they had thrown in the show’s prequel movie Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, but I guess I can’t be picky.

blog7.jpg blog6.jpg blog5.jpg

  • Noisettes / What’s the Time Mr - viagra quick.Wolf? - Noisettes are a trio out of the UK that offer up some refreshingly solid rock; viagra quick.Shingai Shoniwa’s voice is like an amazing Karen O, Chrissie Hynde, Grace Slick hybrid and their songs are a bluesy punk rock bag of goodness.
  • Pink Martini / Hey, Eugene! - I’m a giant fan of everything Pink Martini puts out, but this album is actually their strongest to date in my opinion - viagra quick. Viagra quick: its hard to truly encapsulate Pink Martini in a sentence or two, so I’ll just say if you are into classical or world music, lounge singers, musicals, or jazz then you need to check them out.
  • The Rosebuds / Night of the Furies - Night of the Furies was in heavy rotation for months in my car last year - its like candy for your ears. Viagra quick: the Rosebuds resurrect 80’s Brit pop with a little help from their friends the Shout Out Louds.

  • The Dangerous Book for Boys by Hal and Gonn Iggulden - This book can be found on many Best of 2007 lists and with good reason - its a beautifully nostalgic manual for adventurous souls, both boys and girls.Yet another one of my “I wish I’d thought of it first” titles!
  • Un Lun Dun by China Mieville - Un Lun Dun has a little bit of everything - quirky, endearing characters; mystery; adventure; fantastical lands and creatures plus wonderfully entertaining illustrations to accompany you throughout your read - viagra quick. Its the kind of book that makes you sad when you’re finished because whatever you read after it will not even remotely compare.
  • The Magical Life of Long Tack Sam By Ann Marie Fleming - This graphic novel adaptation of the movie Fleming made about her great-grandfather’s absolutely amazing life is quite possibly the best graphic memoir I’ve ever read - viagra quick. She successfully translates a film to print and the tale she tells is entertaining and awe inspiring.

According to a new report from Unity Marketing, people ages 25 to 35 are the biggest spenders on luxury papers and stationary.  It seems that despite the popularity of texting and electronic communication, when it comes to writing this generation wants it to be pretty.

The same report mentioned that greeting cards are mostly purchased by those 45 and older.  I know I buy very few greeting cards, but I do love to wrap even small presents in beautiful paper (when I can afford it).  Do these trends hold true in your life?

Are you feeling Quarterlife? The producers behind Thirtysomething, Once and Again, and My So-Called Life are at it again with their new web soap - online viagra without prescription.Quarterlife focuses on Dylan (Bitsie Tulloch, pictured above), a twenty-something magazine staffer and blogger who starts sharing the romantic and personal travails of her friends and roommates with the world.Think Reality Bites circa 2006.

When ABC passed on the television pilot for this show online viagra without prescription, producers Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick took the show online, intending to broadcast it as 36 8-minute installments (so far we’re up to episode 18).This nifty approach is attempting to use traditional media (television) in another way, resulting in the slickest looking web-soap I’ve seen yet.

I’m reserving final judgment on Quarterlife until it finishes its first run, but for now its a fun diversion that I’d like to see develop further. Online viagra without prescription: it seems that web viewers have also spoken on the project - although over 1 million have checked out the first episode, only 100,000 had returned for episode nine.Which may mean that the interwebs just aren’t interested in broadcast ready television.

If you’d like to wait and watch Quarterlife on your old-fashioned picture tube online viagra without prescription, NBC just picked up Quarterlife to debut on February 18th at 9pm.

Order cialis online: with the Iowa Caucus upon us, we all know that the political machine is all oiled up and ready to spin.  Sometimes its hard to know just what to believe when it comes to campaigning - if you’re like me you end up being skeptical of just about everything.

The Annenberg Political Fact Check, or FactCheck.org, is a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania.FactCheck.org works as an independant and non-partisan “consumer advocate” for people wanting to know more about the claims made in stump speeches and TV advertisements.  A group of staff writers regularly investigates the claims made in political discourse and posts its results in this easy to navigate format.  Claims are evaluated for accuracy and context, and FactCheck attempts to provide clarification of the issues at hand.

This is certainly a valuable resource for getting at the truth versus the truthiness of the matter; order cialis online.

I’m happy to say that I enjoyed all of the above in addition to catching up on some of my favorite websites and blogs. Good thing I did, too, because I found a fantastic short from the incredibly funny ladies at Variety Shac that I’m hoping you’ll love half as much as I do. Order cialis online without prescription: if you’re unfamiliar with the comic stylings of the Shac, this review from the Village Voice sums them up pretty nicely:
