We are thoroughly excited to invite you to our next genre x after hours program, Smell the Glove: A Guitar Hero World Tour Competition. In celebration of American Library Association’s National Gaming Day, Smell the Glove will give you the opportunity to take the stage and perform songs on plastic drums and guitars in front of a roaring audience, all while competing for prizes!
So if you’re a Guitar Hero enthusiast with mad skills, we’re looking for you! Just round up a band of four and register following the instructions below the jump. Or if you’re more comfortable playing on Easy (like me), then stop by with your friends and cheer for your favorite mock band. After all, participants will be judged not only on their score and accuracy but also on showmanship & audience response. And yes, costumes and personas are highly encouraged - take this as a cue to come dressed as the members of Spinal Tap, your favorite rock band, or to unveil a band uniform of your own design.
Join us at Oak Park Public Library on Saturday, November 14 when the show must go on, or more precisely at 7pm. This event is 18+, advance registration is required to compete, refreshments will be served, and it most definitely “goes to 11“.

1; online viagra. Online viagra: eligibility This event is open to players 18+ who feel confident enough to compete in a competitive tournament. All interested teams must submit registration information to genre-x@oppl.org by noon on Friday, February 5 to compete.
2.Team Make-Up Each team must consist of four players. Upon registration, teams will be asked for contact information for the team leader and a team/band name. Names of all team players are not required upon registration, but only teams with four players in tow will be allowed to compete on Saturday, February 6.
3 - online viagra.Tournament Preparation Be prepared to play any of the songs in Guitar Hero: World Tour (Wii version) as tournament songs will be selected at random. All songs selected for competition will be played on HARD. All necessary equipment for play will be supplied at the event, and there will be no consoles for warm-up prior to competing.
4.Procedures All competing teams must sign in beginning at 7pm on Saturday online viagra, February 6. Once check-in is complete, a representative of each team will randomly draw a song name for the first round of play. After each team has played their first song, scores will be announced along with the names of the bands moving on to the second round. We will repeat for each round until two teams are left standing. The final two teams will compete for 1st and 2nd place. In the event of a tie, the champion team will be determined by audience applause.
5.Judging Criteria Each song performance will be judged on a 30 point scale – possible points include 10 points for score & accuracy, 10 points for showmanship, and 10 points for audience response. Costumes & personas are encouraged to increase team scores in the showmanship category. All scores are final.
6.Publicity & Use of Personal Information By participating in this competition online viagra, all team members grant Oak Park Public Library permission to use their names & photographs in connection with promotion of this and other library events and waive any claims to royalties for such use.
